TDI Gas Blender

Course Prerequisites 

The minimum age to enrol on the TDI Gas Blender course is 18, no other prerequisites for Gas Blender. If you wish to enroll on the Advanced Gas Blender you should already be certified as TDI Nitrox Gas Blender or equivalent.

Who this course is for

This course is suitable for dive center employees, or divers who wish to learn the proper procedures for blending gasses, handling the equipment, and cleaning oxygen compatible materials to a state where they can be used with pressurised oxygen. Gas Blender address enriched air mixes, advanced gas blender addresses helium mixes.

What you can expect

The course looks at topics such as the Responsibility of the Gas Blender, the gases of diving, the properties of air, oxygen, nitrogen and helium. How to correctly handle oxygen, recognize and manage oxygen hazards which includes the causes and prevention of oxygen fire, oxygen system design and local regulations for gas blending and handling. Gas production equipment including compressors, cylinders, filtration systems, analog gauges. Mixing techniques such as continuous blending systems, de-nitrogenated air systems, pre-mix system, partial pressure blending mathematics. Oxygen analysis, the procedures and oxygen analyzers.

This course is not supported by e-learning, but we can send you a soft copy of your course materials as soon as we confirm your booking.

If you have any suitable equipment of your own we highly recommend using it, however use all the required rental equipment is included in your course fee.  If you would like to purchase equipment from us for use during your course please let us know when making your booking, we can have that ready for you on arrival, see our store for available dive equipment.

All participants need to be medically fit for diving, to determine this please read, and follow the instructions on the Diver Medical Form. If it highlights a condition you have that requires medical approval you will need this prior to going in the water. We recommend you do this prior to your arrival in Moalboal. We can arrange a visit to the doctor here, but facilities may not be to the same standard where you are from. You can find the form here.
