The minimum age to enrol on the TDI Helitrox Diver course is 18, you should already be certified as SDI Advanced Diver (with Deep specialty) or TDI Intro to Tech Diver (or equivalent), certified as TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver (unless being taught concurrently), and have logged at least 50 open water dives.
Who this course is for
This course is for certified Advanced or Intro to Tech Divers who want to expand their knowledge of decompression theory, and diving techniques using helitrox as a bottom gas. This course can make it possible for divers to extend their bottom time, and set the stage for continuing technical diver training.
What you can expect
The program has a heavy emphasis on decompression dive planning including oxygen, nitrogen and helium limitations, deco gas choices, emergency and contingency planning. You will learn about using helium as a breathing gas including its effects on narcosis, effects on respiration, effects as an insulator, isobaric counter diffusion and HPNS. Practical skills covered are decompression diving procedures, gear selection and configuration, pre-dive checks and drills, stress management, following decompression schedules, effective gas switching, effective team awareness and communication, and much more.

If you have any suitable equipment of your own we highly recommend using it, however use all the required rental equipment is included in your course fee. If you would like to purchase equipment from us for use during your course please let us know when making your booking, we can have that ready for you on arrival, see our store for available dive equipment.
All participants need to be medically fit for diving, to determine this please read, and follow the instructions on the Diver Medical Form. If it highlights a condition you have that requires medical approval you will need this prior to going in the water. We recommend you do this prior to your arrival in Moalboal. We can arrange a visit to the doctor here, but facilities may not be to the same standard where you are from. You can find the form here.
