TDI Trimix Instructor

Course Prerequisites 

The minimum age to enrol on the TDI Trimix Instructor course is 21, you should already be certified as TDI Trimix Diver and a TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures Instructor, or equivalent, and hold a current CPR and first aid certification. Provide proof of 250 logged dives with a minimum of 20 logged Trimix dives outside of training, 10 of these dives must be in the last 12 months, and have 15 certified advanced nitrox or decompression procedures divers; minimum of 10 must be decompression procedures divers.

Who this course is for

While using helium-based breathing gases, the TDI Trimix Instructor Course delivers the training required to teach trimix diving that requires staged decompression. Utilizing gases containing no less than 18% oxygen, candidates will complete the four required dives up to 60 meters.

What you can expect

TDI instructor courses are split between skill and knowledge development, and candidate assessments. You will be asked to form presentations on the following topics, hypoxia, narcosis, helium absorption and elimination, Isobaric Counter Diffusion and HPNS, dive planning and gas switching procedures.

This course is not supported by e-learning, all required course materials will be available to you upon booking your program.

The course fee does not include helium costs for you or the instructor trainer, each student will pay their own gas costs, plus a share of the instructor trainers.

All participants need to be medically fit for diving, to determine this please read, and follow the instructions on the Diver Medical Form. If it highlights a condition you have that requires medical approval you will need this prior to going in the water. We recommend you do this prior to your arrival in Moalboal. We can arrange a visit to the doctor here, but facilities may not be to the same standard where you are from. You can find the form here.
