TDI Cavern Diver

Course Prerequisites 

The minimum age to enrol on the TDI Cavern Diver course is 18, 15 with parental consent, you should already be certified as SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent, and have logged at least 25 logged open water dives.

Who this course is for

Diving in overhead envronments gives a diver very exclusive access to some of the most incredible dive sites around, but it does come with some added risks. During this course you will learn how to recongnize and manage those risks, and be introduced to some new equipment and motor skills. This course sets the stage for more exciting courses such as cave and wreck.

What you can expect

Topics covered in this course include policy for cavern diving, gas management procedures, equipment considerations including tank selection, regulator options, buoyancy compensator/harness options, proper weighting, use of reels, spools and line markings, effective communication by both light and hand signals, proper trim, line-following, breathing techniques, cavern environment, cavern conservation, emergency procedures, equipment failure, anti silting techniques, accident analysis, cavern diving etiquette and a review of dive tables and decompression theory.

This course is supported by e-learning, we will need to get some additional information from you via email, as soon as we have that and your course payment, we can give you online access.

If you have any suitable equipment of your own we highly recommend using it, however use all the required rental equipment is included in your course fee.  If you would like to purchase equipment from us for use during your course please let us know when making your booking, we can have that ready for you on arrival, see our store for available dive equipment.

All participants need to be medically fit for diving, to determine this please read, and follow the instructions on the Diver Medical Form. If it highlights a condition you have that requires medical approval you will need this prior to going in the water. We recommend you do this prior to your arrival in Moalboal. We can arrange a visit to the doctor here, but facilities may not be to the same standard where you are from. You can find the form here.
