TDI Nitrox Instructor

Course Prerequisites 

The minimum age to enrol on the TDI Nitrox Instructor course is 18, you should already be certified as SDI Instructor or the equivalent, hold a current CPR and first aid certification. Minimum certification of basic nitrox diver (may be combined with instructor program) or equivalent. Provide proof of at least 10 logged nitrox dives,

Who this course is for

TDI Nitrox Instructor is for instructors wishing to teach enriched air as a breathing gas. The benefits of allowing divers more time underwater speak for themselves, this course is a valuable tool in any instructors kit. During this course you will learn the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for teaching enriched air with 22% to 40% oxygen content.

What you can expect

During this course you will learn a little history of EANx, some related physiology, the characteristics of oxygen and nitrogen, go through a physics review, some discussion of partial pressures, equipment requirements for EANx with <40 percent and >40 percent O2, compare tables and computers, some discussion of myths and facts regarding EAN mixtures, O₂ toxicity hazards and depth limits, demonstrate the use of oxygen analyzers and learn how they function.

This course is not supported by e-learning, all required course materials will be available to you upon booking your program.

All participants need to be medically fit for diving, to determine this please read, and follow the instructions on the Diver Medical Form. If it highlights a condition you have that requires medical approval you will need this prior to going in the water. We recommend you do this prior to your arrival in Moalboal. We can arrange a visit to the doctor here, but facilities may not be to the same standard where you are from. You can find the form here.
