PADI IDC Staff Instructor

Course Prerequisites 

To enroll on the PADI IDC Staff Instructor course you must be a teaching status PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Emergency First Response Instructor. You must agree to conduct all levels of diver training consistent with the standards and philosophy outlined in the PADI Instructor Manual, PADI’s Guide to Teaching and the PADI Course Director Manual, and, agree to use the PADI System and its components in their entirety.

Who this course is for

Experienced instructors that feel they have more to offer, IDC staff instructors can assist course directors with the PADI Instructor Development Course, and associated programs, and conduct the PADI Assistant Instructor course independently.

What you can expect

There are two ways to earn this certification, the first (and recommended) is to assist on a complete IDC, and complete the requirements for the staff instructor course at the same time, this gives the candidate the most exposure to the course director, and the opportunity to observe IDC candidates in training. The second option is to conduct an entire Assistant Instructor course under the supervision of a course director.

This course is supported by e-learning,  we recommend purchasing it from us to avoid mistakes, but you may purchase it from PADI if you wish, check with us for the correct store affiliation. If purchasing from us we will need to get some additional information from you via email, as soon as we have that and your course payment, we can give you online access.

For professional courses we highly recommend the use of your own gear, if you wish to rent from us this can easily be arranged, just let us know at the time of booking what you need.  If you would like to purchase equipment from us for use during your course please let us know when making your booking, we can have that ready for you on arrival, see our store for available dive equipment.

All participants need to be medically fit for diving, to determine this please read, and follow the instructions on the Diver Medical Form. If it highlights a condition you have that requires medical approval you will need this prior to going in the water. We recommend you do this prior to your arrival in Moalboal. We can arrange a visit to the doctor here, but facilities may not be to the same standard where you are from. You can find the form here.
