PADI Search & Recovery

Course Prerequisites 

The minimum age to enroll on the PADI Search & Recovery course is 12 years old, and you must be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, or its equivalent.

Who this course is for

If you have an interest in searching for items dropped from docks or boats you will enjoy this course, from wedding rings to boat engines, you’d be surprised at the variety of objects that need to be brought up from the bottom.

What you can expect

Typically a two day course, you will learn a variety of search patterns, and how to select the most appropriate one depending on your environment and goals, how to implement a search as part of a team, and once found how to recover items using knots and lifting devices.

There are some materials for you to enjoy which are included in your course fee, these will be issued to you on arrival. All required equipment is included in the course fee, please just bring any items needed to remain comfortable, such as a towel, change of clothes and sun protection. If you would like to purchase equipment from us for use during your course please let us know when making your booking, we can have that ready for you on arrival, see our store for available dive equipment.

All participants need to be medically fit for diving, to determine this please read, and follow the instructions on the Diver Medical Form. If it highlights a condition you have that requires medical approval you will need this prior to going in the water. We recommend you do this prior to your arrival in Moalboal. We can arrange a visit to the doctor here, but facilities may not be to the same standard where you are from. You can find the form here.
