PADI Assistant Instructor

Course Prerequisites 

The minimum age to enrol on this program is 18 years old, a certified diver for at least 6 months, a PADI Divemaster (or equivalent), and have logged at least 60 dives.

Who this course is for

The PADI assistant instructor course is a good choice for divemasters who are ready to take on more responsibility but cannot commit the time required for the full PADI IDC and IE. The AI course accounts for approximately half of the IDC, and allows those that complete it, to continue onto the remainder of the IDC anytime afterward. It can provide a welcome step up and an opportunity to gain experience before continuing on.

What you can expect

It is an intensive course and is intended to challenge you. We will take all that you learned as a PADI Divemaster, and teach you how to pass that onto others. You will develop new skills in the classroom and water, and be evaluated as you go.

This course is supported by e-learning,  we recommend purchasing it from us to avoid mistakes, but you may purchase it from PADI if you wish, check with us for the correct store affiliation. If purchasing from us we will need to get some additional information from you via email, as soon as we have that and your course payment, we can give you online access.

For professional courses we highly recommend the use of your own gear, if you wish to rent from us this can easily be arranged, just let us know at the time of booking what you need.  If you would like to purchase equipment from us for use during your course please let us know when making your booking, we can have that ready for you on arrival, see our store for available dive equipment.

All participants need to be medically fit for diving, to determine this please read, and follow the instructions on the Diver Medical Form. If it highlights a condition you have that requires medical approval you will need this prior to going in the water. We recommend you do this prior to your arrival in Moalboal. We can arrange a visit to the doctor here, but facilities may not be to the same standard where you are from. You can find the form here.
